Hehe nah I'm just kidding. But I am way too heavy. A good 50 pounds overweight. And not only would I like to be a lot healthier in general, I'd like to lose some weight so I can cosplay better. So I've made a pact that by my 21st birthday next March, I'm going to lose all that weight. I find it's easier for me to keep track of something like this if I tell people about it so that I kind of.. force myself into staying on track. The pressure, you know?

So here are my stats:
Current height: 5'6"
Current weight: 172 pounds
Jeans size: Size 14 (would like to be down to a size 6)
Goal weight: 125 pounds (though if I hit 135 or 140 pounds, I would still be happy)

Measurements:
Waist: 40" <-- really need to lose here
Thighs: 25" <-- really need to lose here
Calves: 15"
Neck: 14.5"
Arms: 15 inches <-- really need to lose here
Bust: 35 inches

I'm most focused on losing weight in my thighs, waist, and arms right now. So here's hoping. I'm eating a lot healthier, keeping track of calories, I've already cut soda completely out of my diet, and am trying running and a program called "Slim in 6" for toning purposes.

DeviantArt is an excellent resource for gaining exposure among the artistic community and discovering new tools to help you achieve artistic improvement. It is, however, rather tricky at some points to use!
I would not consider myself popular - but there are some sure fire tricks to getting yourself noticed!


1. Do not be shy about posting artwork or literature, original or otherwise.

If you don't post, no one will see it - there will be no chance to be critiqued, no chance for supportive comments, nothing. I know a lot of people are very shy about posting their work, but if you don't post, you won't get exposure!


2. Submit to groups!

There is no shame in submitting to a lot of groups, or even just a few. That's what they're there for - to collect artwork of a certain category, and they'll want your art. And it isn't 'whoring yourself out', it's promoting yourself artistically! So join a bunch of groups, submit your pieces, fans of those groups will love to see. There are tons of groups out there, so do a search!

3. Join contests!

While contests on DA can be hard to win, entries are often featured in journals, winners are often featured on group pages, and others are made aware of who has been entering. Contests = exposure. I know of a great contest group which features hundreds of contest every month, and you can easily pick and choose from what is available - #AnotherContestGroup I would highly recommend going there and rifling through what's available!

4. Drawing/writing fan works now and again helps!

It is definitely good to draw/write original pieces, but let's be very fair. There are far more groups aimed for fans out there then there are groups made for just original work, and fandoms are a powerful thing. Don't be embarrassed if you draw/write fanart - odds are good that other fans will really appreciate your contribution!


5. Be active within the community!

Commenting frequently on others' works will show your interest and spirit, and often will give you a boost of exposure. Llama badges are a great way to be active. If you want to show someone appreciation for their art, give a llama, leave a comment, add a favorite, try talking to them and starting a conversation! While not everyone answers, quite a few people will.
But don't go overboard. Unless you are critiquing and need to comment a little negatively, only give positive feedback. Pointing out only the negative in a piece could leave you open to attack from that artist's fans and give you a bad reputation - not the kind of DA popularity you should want.


6. Be kind and respectful - to everybody.

This doesn't need much explanation - the friendlier you are with watchers or commenters, the better of a reputation you will build.


That's basically it! DA is a different experience for everyone, but utilizing some of these suggestions should help you!

1.Why did you join DeviantART?
Hmm well I'd heard of DeviantArt at a young age, but my mom was horrified at the thought of me joining simply because it was called "Deviant" art and she thought that meant that it would be riddled with NSFW material. Which to be fair, there is a fair amount of material, but there's only straight up pornographic material if you go looking for it. Or join groups for it. Meh.
But I joined because I was lonely. And I liked to draw - I hoped to meet people, which I did. Met a lot of really great people.


2.What does your username have to do with you?
My nickname is Suga, people say I'm sweet like sugar cx I don't know why I added the so fly part, it just worked!


3.What is your current avatar of?
Karkat from Homestuck. Though not my patron troll, I act a combination of Karkat, Sollux, and Tavros IRL.


4.How many watchers do you have, and how many do you watch?
Um... I have 423 watchers and I watch.. well it says 246, but I think that's including groups and I watch a ton of groups, so probably about a flat 200.


5.Do you have more than one account?
Nope! I've considered separating things, but I ended up only doing that on my Tumblr. I decided that if someone likes my style, it shouldn't matter what art I'm drawing, whether Homestuck or South Park fanart or original work. So it's all together.

7.What deviant do you admire because of their personality?
I really love . I follow her on Tumblr and she's really humble and sweet despite her popularity, which I think is just the greatest. And even if she gets a shitload of comments on something, she replies to most if not all of them.

I actually don't know a single person that I'd met IRL before DA!

I sometimes fave and run, but if I have something better than "this is cute" or "omg" then I comment cx

Fanart. I'm too shy to post original art at the moment. And I want to be at my best artistically when I do decide to get going with my original work.

I guess I don't mind it because it's humorous, but I'm rather embarrassed that it's been viewed by almost 6,000 people because I don't want the South Park fandom to be helped /defined/ by something like this. The South Park fandom can do a lot better.

I have a few, but for all different reasons!

For this one, I thought I did a nice job with digital painting - which cartoonists very rarely do



This one not because I think it's well drawn, but because I put so much time into putting a bunch of different characters in and adding a background. I want to do art more like this more frequently.



And this one because I thought I did well drawing a person older, which can be a struggle for me sometimes because I draw kids so often.

It kind of depends on the day, but as a whole, probably about an hour, hour and a half - I'm on that and Tumblr when I'm winding down from work.

Well it's.. it's actually asking for requests. Or saying "I think you should draw this" because it sounds like a request. I have an awful time saying no and sometimes I just don't want to draw those requests. Also when people say things like "I don't know why I art I'll never be as good as you"

Making a comment about your own artistic abilities on someone else's piece isn't very thoughtful to that artist nor is it helpful to them.

I don't think I've gotten very many that I was seriously offended by. People on here are generally kind, I have a hard time finding mean people cx


20.What/who inspires you?
Wow! Well.. Disney first inspired me. Then Dreamworks and Pixar movies. Glenn Keane, who was a dominant artist for Disney and did some really astounding work. Um - TV and movies, mainly comedies. Books! Pop culture in general. And the cartoonists I find on here also drive me forward to get better. GAH AND MUSIC, MUSIC BIG TIME



21.Do you use guidelines when you draw?
Yes! It keeps me from making too lopsided of eyes cx


22.Do you associate people on DeviantART with their icons?
Oh yeah haha definitely. I will never not see ~CMoonToon as a Homer Simpson face XD

Yes, a fair amount actually! But none have gone through yet :c

I consider it every now and again because I feel very irritating to the friends I do have on here with my depression. Yet I want and need you guys' support to help get me through rough times. So I'm not sure what to do with that. I'll likely stay here permanently though, you all mean a lot to me.

Uh this is going to be a rather sentimental journal entry because I am feeling gushy ;;

I just wanted to say that I love each and every one of you as individuals. That you can talk to me at any time you wish, you can send me notes with your problems, randomly drop by my page to chat - anything. I think you're all really amazing people; if we talk loads, only sometimes, or even not at all, there is no doubt in my mind that you are all beautiful/handsome in your own way because everyone has something special about them.

On another note, to those struggling with sexuality - it's okay. I am very proud to admit that I have realized my sexuality (pansexual if you were wondering) and it's okay to like those of the opposite or same sex or to like neither or both, whatever you feel is perfectly okay to be feeling. It doesn't matter what anyone else says about it.

To those struggling with gender identity - if you want to be referred to as a specific gender, tell me, and I will of course respect your decision. If you wish to be gender fluid, that's okay. It's okay to be scared and uncertain about it, but how you feel is what you should base your decisions around because your feelings are most important. Nevermind other's judgments, it's your life and your feelings.

To those struggling with low self-esteem, to those who have had a bad background.. I understand. Life is never easy. It doesn't matter if you feel very little's happened to you to make you sad or if you feel everything's happened to you and can't move past it; if you feel bad, these feelings are valid and should be recognized. I've had some bad personal experiences and I will admit that I often struggle with my self-esteem, it is quite low. But that doesn't mean I'm a bad person; none of you are bad people, you're all beautiful inside and out.

To those struggling with weight - fuck what anyone else says. If you are curvy, you are curvy, and being curvy is beautiful. If you are skinny, then you just are, and you are also beautiful. If you are fat, shapely, a little chubby, skinny, short, tall - none of it matters. Appearance doesn't matter at all, it's what's inside that counts. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

To anyone going through a hard time in their lives - take a deep breath. Because rough patches are what determines how strong we are, and you will be okay. Persevere, fight back. You'll get through it.

Bianca. You are the love of my life. I love every little thing about you, I love that you are a more serious person, but goofy moments are plentiful when we are together. I love that you are curvy, because you are stunningly beautiful. I love the way your eyes crinkle when you smile. I love the sound of your laughter, I love just the sound of your soft voice. I love every conversation we have, happy or sad, because I am getting the chance to talk to someone I'm so very in love with. I love how intelligent and contemplative you are, that we can have very insightful discussions. I love your dry humor haha, even when I'm very sad you can still make me crack a smile. I cannot wait for us to be together again - I know you can't either heh. You are so wonderful for reasons that are based solely on you and your own personality - and I love you.

Sami. You are so strong and I'm so sorry you have to be this strong, it's not fair. I hope that I can alleviate some of your stress because I know that things are not easy.
